We are very excited to have Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church open their doors to provide sleeping shelter for those in need during the cold Wisconsin winter months! If you are wanting to get involved here is how:

WARMING CENTER NEEDS VOLUNTEERS

Homelessness is on the rise in the country, and this includes Stevens Point. Because of this steady rise, the Hope Center has often been at capacity and people have been sleeping unsheltered. Keeping these people off the streets, out of jail, and safe is not easy and needs the support of volunteers like you.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED AND HELP?

November 1 to April 1, shifts run from 8:30 PM – 2:00 AM, 2:00 AM – 6:30 AM, and 5:45 AM -6:30 AM with one or two volunteers per shift. In addition, there will be staff present to assist the volunteers and guests. What is important is having enough volunteers throughout this winter season to truly make a difference in this community. We are always looking for friendly and dedicated volunteers. Would you consider being a part of this great team? ADVOCACY

Knowledge is power and getting the word out is important. The more people that know of the homeless concern in our “back yard”, the more people are willing to help.

FUNDING

Despite the number of volunteers and the efforts of ECI, the Warming center does have a meager budget. Capital is needed to keep the center operating and healthy. We accept monthly sponsors, one time gifts, and church offerings to help support the shelter.
