The Kids’ Closet is NOW OPEN! Our address is 2151 Stanley St, Stevens Point. Our hours are Monday 9am-11am, and Thursday 2pm-4pm.
One of our co-chairs, Tiffani, is a mother of five children, as well as a foster parent in our local community. During a Place of Peace meal she was noticing children were attending in clothing that was either torn, tattered, or just didn’t fit.
Having five kids herself, she could only image what low income and single parent households must deal with when the monkeys grow like palm trees! Inspired she started gathering all of the gently used kids closthes she could find.
First through networking and social media, then eventually setting up shelves in the Evergreen Community Initiatives facility, The Kids Closet has been serving the community since 2013.
Our stock is constantly being rotated and new donations come in weekly. The only way to know what we have is to stop in and see! Tiffani saw the need to open a pantry of clothing for kids of all ages.
THE FOLLOWING ARE RULES FOR THE KIDS CLOSET.
One bag per child per month
Children must be accompanied by an adult
We are now accepting donations:
Items MUST be gently used
Dropped off at the shed near the south entrance (see map)
Evergreen Community Initiatives, is made up of a lot of volunteers. Without our volunteers our programs won’t exist. Our Board of Directors is made up of people from all walks of life with various skill sets, but they all have one common goal: to help people in our community.
